Little (and big) boy heaven

On Saturday we took The Boy to the local Volunteer Wildfire Services open day. It's an annual event and a real treat to see all the emergency vehicles up close. The Boy got to climb into a fire engine, helicopter, ambulance and use a fire hose! He didn't love seeing the helicopters take off though - I think it was a bit too noisy.

All this fun is totally free but you can donate some cash. It's all for an excellent cause as these amazing volunteers respond to fires and emergencies 24 hours a day for 365 days of the year. So if you're in Cape Town it's totally worth a visit to next year's open day.
